NOTE: This release of the USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference has been superseded.  The new release is available on our new web site:  http://www.ars.usda.gov/nutrientdata Access to Release 11-1 of the USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference is provided here for those users who may wish to use it for historical reasons. 

Documentation for the database is available either in the main SR11-1 directory as a clickable html file or in the download files listed here. The dcoumentation is given in both WordPerfect 6.1 or as a PDF file. PDF files can be read using the Acrobat reader which is available free. To install a PDF viewer in your web browser read, "Steps to Downloading the Free Acrobat Reader"

ASCII (2,100 Kb) - This file contains the SR11-1 data in delimited files. These file are for importing into a database program on your computer. Using these files will allow the database program to import the files into its own format and give you access to all the features of your database program.

DBF (2,134 Kb) - This file contains the SR11-1 data in DBF files. While your database program will be able to read these files without importing, all the features of the program may not be available.

Abbreviated (ASCII) (556 Kb) - This file contains data for a limited number of nutrients for all food items in ASCII format. See the documentation for more information.

Abbreviated (DBF) (424 Kb) - This file contains data for a limited number of nutrients for all food items in DBF format. See the documentation for more information.

Update file (ASCII) (306 Kb) - This file contains updates in ASCII delimited files for those users who have loaded Release 11 into their own computers and wish to do their own updates.

Update file (DBF) (295 Kb) - This file contains updates in DBF files for those users who have loaded release 11 into their own computers and wish to their own updates.
