Important information for visitors: NAL Front Door is closed
The main (front) entrance to USDA's National Agricultural Library (NAL) Abraham Lincoln Building will be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, July 5, 2005. The NAL will continue to be open, and its service desk will operate during regular hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) weekdays.
Visitors to NAL should park in either of two parking lots and enter the building via the side entrance located on the west side of the building (adjacent to the parking lot facing Route 1). Signs will direct visitors where to park and where to enter. Reserved parking for persons with handicaps will continue to be available in the parking lot closest to Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue). The USDA Shuttle will also use this side entrance.
In lieu of visiting the Abraham Lincoln Building, NAL customers may use the Reference Center in USDA's South Building (Room 1052), or access many of the library's services via the NAL Web site.
The entrance will remain closed for 2-4 months, pending the completion of brick repairs on the front of the building. Notification will be sent when the entrance reopens.
