NAL, ARS Celebrate 50 Year Anniversary

NAL staff prepare for the ARS 50th Celebration kick-off. NAL Director Peter Young makes opening comments the morning of the celebration. USDA Deputy Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics, Dr. Rodney Brown, cuts the ribbon.
Several acknowledgements were made during the celebration. Librarian Kathie Beane receives recognition during the morning festivities. Mary Ann Leonard of the National Agricultural Library looks on as Sharon Drumm of the ARS Office of the Administrator, Dr. Brown, and ARS Acting Associate Administrator, Dr. Caird Rexroad, play the ARS History Quiz. Ms. Drumm, Dr. Brown and Dr. Rexroad await the next ARS History Quiz question.
Dr. Brown cuts the cake as Dr. Rexroad and Peter Young look on. National Agricultural Library's Maria Pisa joins Dr. Rexroad, Dr. Brown and Peter Young as the first slice of cake is cut. Information about NAL and the Henry G. Gilbert Nursery and Seed Trade Catalogs were just two of the featured exhibits at the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Chako Dickinson, with the American Chemical Society, offers details on the society's Journal Archives. The service is available via Digitop. Brian Combs, with Leadership Directories, Inc., discusses Leadership's products and services. Just a few of the USDA Employees who took time out from lunch to visit the exhibits.
