Hoxie, Solomon. Papers, 1879-1912. 36 items.

Books, booklets, clippings and letters, 1879-1912, relating to S[olomon]. Hoxie, and Holstein-Friesian, or Dutch-Friesian, cattle. Mostly printed material, including articles by Hoxie, with some manuscript notes. Some items in Dutch. Arranged chronologically.

Ledger, 1870-1893, includes store (?) accounts with J. S. Jones; accounts of "Rockspring Church;" records of judgments rendered by J. S. Jones, J. P. Front cover missing. Box 10/3. Also, clipping from Southern Agriculture, Nashville, Tenn., March 15, 1922, found between pp. 244-245 of J. S. Jones ledger book. Box 10/4, folder 15.


Lee, Ora. Account book, 1910-1918. 1 vol.

Property Record of Ora Lee, Albion, New York. 1 vol., 1910-1918. Account book listing values of real estate, livestock, equipment, supplies, produce, crops, etc. Box 10/3.


Loomis family. Diaries, 1880-1912, and n.d. 4 folders.

Typed transcript of diaries of the Loomis family of Ionia, Michigan; entries principally by Arthur Perkins Loomis, with some by his father, James Winship Loomis, or his wife, Carrie Sessions Loomis. The diaries describe farming operations, social life, and local and state politics. The transcription consists of approximately 450 typed pages, double spaced. Following the entries for 1912 there is an essay by Arthur Loomis on "Governors I have known" dealing with Michigan politics. There are also a three-page handwritten description of the diaries and the family, four pages of manuscript maps and diagrams showing the location and layout of the farm, a list of "Family and friends and relatives," and a 35 page index, mostly of personal names.
