Duchesne intended to use his father's official emblem together with his own drawings of strawberries in the 1766 publication of L’Histoire Naturelle des Fraisiers, but he lacked the money to print them. The inscription on the emblem read "from the Office of Antoine Duchesne Superintendent of the King's Buildings," a post Duchesne inherited but which the Revolution abolished.
