Drought Monitor

"A synthesis of multiple indices, outlooks and news accounts, that represents a consensus of federal and academic scientists." The Drought Monitor is provided by agencies within the USDA, including the National Water and Climate Center (NWCC), the Department of Commerce, the Department of the Interior and the National Drought Mitigation Center (NDMC). Crops

Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin
USDA. Joint Agricultural Weather Facility.
A component of the Bulletin is the NASS Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin, which is "a product of the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture, containing weekly national agricultural weather summaries, including the weather's effect on crops; summaries and farm progress for 44 states and the New England area. This report includes any corrections to the Crop Progress data released the previous day."

A clearinghouse of weather information for agriculture.

Water Watch
DOI. United States Geological Survey.
A compilation of ''maps and graphs of current water resources conditions'' including daily streamflow condition maps. Daily streamflow condition maps depict streamflow conditions as measured at United States Geological Survey (USGS) gaging stations. Please note that "the real-time data used to produce the maps are provisional and have not been reviewed or edited. The data may be subject to significant change."

 North American Drought Variability
DOC. NOAA. National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service.
Focuses its work toward "drought variability for the last ca. 100 years based on instrumental data, and on the last several centuries and millennia based on paleoclimatic proxy data." Related information can be found through NOAA's Paleoclimate Drought Resources page.

Current and Anticipated Precipitation Anomalies Over the U.S.
DOC. NOAA. Climate Diagnostics Center.
"Monitors current and anticipated precipitation anomalies over the contiguous United States. Anticipated precipitation anomalies are those which might be expected over approximately the next two weeks to six months, based on operational or experimental forecasts."

 Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service
DOC. NOAA. National Weather Service.
"Provides new forecast products (including visual displays) depicting the magnitude and uncertainty of occurrence for hydrologic events from hours to days to weeks."
