Cornercopia is a student-managed, USDA-certified organic, sustainable farm with over 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables. The farm offers research opportunities, internships and a Student Organic Farm Marketing and Planning course.
Cornell University manages research farms, orchards, greenhouses, and other facilities dedicated to sustainable agriculture and to organic research. Research programs focus on: organic vegetable production; weed and crop management, organic production systems and breeding and variety testing; organic grain trials; pest management; vegetable pest and crop management systems; organic greenhouse production; organic grape production; and organic apple production.
The Hispanic orchard employee education program (HOEEP) offers seven 19-week certificate programs designed for the Latino workforce in the tree fruit and viticulture industries. Programs include horticulture, integrated pest management, and viticulture.

Peggy Rockefeller Farms operations include the production of pastured livestock; cultivation of certified organic livestock, fruits, berries, vegetables, and mushrooms; and renewable energy projects. The Farm employs students, offers additional opportunities for hands-on experiences, and offers classes that include organic gardening and farm planning.
The Stanford Educational Farm is a living laboratory offering academic and experiential opportunities in the practice of sustainable agriculture. "The farm utilizes agroecological relationships to grow over 200 varieties of vegetables, flowers, herbs, field crops and fruit."
This intensive three-day course offers practical guidance on setting up and running an apple orchard business. The school includes guidance on both IPM and organic production methods as well as variety and root stock selection, planting schemes, pruning, marketing options, and economic considerations. Taught by experienced growers.
Acquired in 2018, the Center will be the first at the University to focus on organic farming and organic -certified production systems. The Center "will offer educational programs in organic and sustainalbe agriculture production. Public programs are expected to focus on biological control, pollinators, soil health, native plant landscaping, horticulture organic food processing and marketing, food safety and nutrition." The center includes a certified organic heirloom fruit orchard and produces 68 varieties or apples, eight varieties or pears and eight other types of fruit."
Coursework for the program covers organic fruit and crop production, organic gardening, viticulture, integrated pest management, composting, specialty crops and sustainable crop production.
The 365-acre Shone Farm provides hands-on experience to students in the Sustainable Agriculture and Animal Science Programs. Students produce and sell grass-fed beef, direct market value-added products, and operate a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
