The SAG program offers a minor in Sustainable Agriculture and a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Agriculture. SAG is hands-on, featuring field-based coursework and an apprenticeship at the University of Kentucky Organic Farming Research and Education Unit (OFREU)," the home to the University's Community Supported Agriculture program. An interdisciplinary team of researchers from multiple departments conduct organic-focused research on 13 acres of the OFREU.
Other Training Opportunity
"The Urban Farm is an outdoor university classroom where students learn to grow their own food organically and sustainably." The class is offered during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. Most farm activities are hands-on with some lectures and field trips.
