The Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture Program supports graduate student research into "agriculture, food systems and their interactions with the environment and society."

In addition, M.Sc. and Ph.D. Crop Science graduate programs include coursework and research with individual faculty whose programs emphasize agroecology, integrated pest management, urban agriculture, and sustainable landscapes. Minors in Crop Science can focus in same subject areas represented in undergraduate concentrations.

Students use organic techniques on five acres for outdoor field production and on 9,000 square feet of year round high tunnel production. Students sell the majority of the agricultural products to university residence halls and market the remainder directly to customers on campus.
