The Department of Plant Sciences offers a M.S. Degree in Plant Sciences and a Ph.D. in collaboration with soil science faculty in the Department of Biosystems Engineering and Soil Sciences and Entomology and Plant Pathology faculty. The 90-acre Organic Crops Unit, one of six farming units that make up the East Tennessee Ag Research and Education Center, includes 14 acres certified organic and 7 acres under conventional production. The farms support faculty and graduate student research, with a primary emphasis on sustainable and organic crop production.
