The MSRS integrates a variety of disciplines including agriculture, physical science, environmental design, engineering, and business. The John T. Lyle Center researches and demonstrates regenerative strategies such as energy production technology, organic agriculture, ecological restoration, and sustainable community development.

Merry Lea Sustainable Farm, the agricultural component of Goshen College's Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center, serves the Agroecology Summer Intensive program, the Center's K-12 programs, and the Center's Masters in Environmental Education. The "educational farm demonstrat[es] sustainable agriculture practices for students and the visiting public."
"The Organic Farmer Training Program is a nine-month intensive training program in year-round organic farming focusing on diversified production of vegetables, livestock, flowers, fruits and herbs for local markets." Program includes management of "15 acre certified organic farm including its 20,000 square foot of passive solar greenhouse space and the Student Organic Farm for its primary markets including a 48-week CSA, 7-month on campus farm stand, and sales to campus dinning services."
The farm "is a 15-acre, certified organic year-round teaching and production farm." Its markets include a year-round CSA, an on-campus farm stand, and sales to campus dining halls. Programs include the Organic Farmer Training Program, collaboration with the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Specialization, undergraduate coursework and research, experiential educational opportunities, and Outreach and Extension programs.
The Middlebury College Organic Farm serves as an outdoor classroom for students who also grow and sell organic produce to the College's dining facilities and local restaurants and stores.
This intensive three-day course offers practical guidance on setting up and running an apple orchard business. The school includes guidance on both IPM and organic production methods as well as variety and root stock selection, planting schemes, pruning, marketing options, and economic considerations. Taught by experienced growers.
Student-led courses in sustainable agriculture practices are offered each semester at the student-run farm.

Coursework in sustainable agriculture, organic vegetable production and current issues in food and agriculture. Academic programs involve Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service. Research conducted on alternative crops, organic production/sustainability, and integrated pest management. Assists New Mexico small farm operators through the Sustainable Agriculture Science Center at Alcalde.
The NTCC farm demonstrates and promotes "sustainable agriculture practices including organic vegetable production, management of soil health utilizing cover cropping, no-till techniques, and rain water harvesting all with a primary focus on conserving and renewing natural resources on the farm." The farm offers internships/apprenticeships for sustainable agriculture students and other NTCC students, and serves as is a venue for training and mentoring local agriculture producers. Local FFA high school students, teachers and garden clubs use the farm for hands-on learning.
The Stanford Educational Farm is a living laboratory offering academic and experiential opportunities in the practice of sustainable agriculture. "The farm utilizes agroecological relationships to grow over 200 varieties of vegetables, flowers, herbs, field crops and fruit."
The Colorado State University's Interdisciplinary Minor in Organic Agriculture is a cooperative effort of four departments within the Colorado State University, College of Agricultural Sciences: Agricultural and Resource Economics; Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management; Horticulture and Landscape Architecture; and Soil and Crop Sciences.
This 18-credit, online program is offered each quarter.
Research in organic topics, leading to a graduate degree in Horticulture, Agronomy or Sustainable Agriculture (GPSA), is available in Dr. Delate's lab. Experiment station and on-farm organic agricultural research, Extension activities, bulletins, field days, and training.
