Percy B. Rowley Papers: American Poultry Historical Society Papers

Introduction

This collection contains various personal and business papers and photographs pertaining to the production and sale of hatching eggs and baby poultry to foreign markets during a 75 year period between 1922 and 1997.

Rowley was one of the earliest U.S. poultry breeders of egg type chickens to open the Far East as a market for their products following WW II. Records of advertising, permits, correspondence and photographs of shipments to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and later to South America are included. He lived in Puyallup, Washington.

In addition, records of the Washington State Poultry Improvement Association, of which Rowley was an active, long time member, complete this collection.
