In February 1981, a large electrical transformer fire occurred in the 18-story State Office Building in Binghamton, New York. The intense fire released large quantities of PCBs, dibenzofurans, and dioxins. The State of New York formed an Expert Panel to assist in developing recommendations and in monitoring the clean-up program. I have served on the Panel since its first meeting in April 1981. The meting in Binghamton on August 12-13 should conclude the program. The State of New York will cover all expenses. I solicit your approval for my participation.
