How can I find information about a specific nutrient?

Information about nutrients can be found at Vitamins and Minerals. Also, you can generate reports on foods containing common nutrients from the USDA NDL at Show Nutrients List page (link is external). Using the drop-down menus for each field, you can select information for up to three nutrients at one time, as well as filter by food subset and food groups, and organize by food name (alphabetically) or by nutrient content.

For more information on select nutrients, including many vitamins and minerals, see Dietary Supplement Fact Sheets (link is external) provided by the NIH ODS. In addition, the Oregon State University Linus Pauling Institute Micronutrient Information Center (link is external) provides vitamin and mineral fact sheets.
