Objective
The partnership for Food Safety Education (government, industry and consumer organizations) has launched the nationwide Fight Bac!tm education campaign to reduce incidence of food borne illness. Their survey indicated video components as a critical need. This project will fulfill the need for educational video curricula to enhance presentation and implementation of Fight Bac! tm concepts with youth and consumers. Three states will develop, implement and evaluate two video curricula. Knowledge gained and frequency of use of safe food handling practices (self-report and parental observation techniques) will be outcome measures of effectiveness. The format will increase cost-effectiveness by impacting primary and secondary audiences.
