End date

Objective
This study has been carried out as part of the policy review of SRM supervision being carried out by the FSA. A model has been developed that can be used to assess the implications of alternative SRM inspection strategies on the risk of exposure to BSE infectivity. The report presents the model and initial results representing SRM controls and the inspection regime in place in 2006. The study covers both UTM and OTM cattle slaughter and the model has also been developed to consider the potential risk from BSE in sheep.
