Objective
MSTFP will provide immersive learning experiences for K-14 professionals in our areain three ways. First, we will offer an annual workshop open to any K-8 educator inMontezuma County. This workshop will provide training in how to deliver experientialand project-based learning tied to food and agriculture, and provide opportunities andeducation around how teachers can utilize the school garden spaces in order to delivercurriculum to students that will align with Colorado's academic standards.Second, we will offer supplemental income and a partnership to three teachers in thecounty who are interested to work closely with us on curriculum development andteaching focused on ag and food literacy. They will be called Garden Coordinators.Third, we will offer professional development opportunities to the Garden Coordinatorsand our Education Manager. Two of these opportunities will be immersive offsiteworkshops from organizations considered to provide best practices in the field of gardeneducation and project-based, outdoor learning. Another opportunity will focus ondeveloping awareness of Ancestral Puebloan agricultural and food systems. Yetanother will be an online course for teachers focused on teaching food and agriculture.
