    • Residue profiling was used to determine the degradation curves of four key insecticides registered for use in US tart cherries. Single and multiple application treatment regimens with minimum and maximum seasonal applications were tested for their effects on residue levels at harvest. The effects of the cherry washing procedure were also tested.

  2. Pseudomonas Isolates as Potential Biofungicides of Green Mold (Penicillium Digitatum) on Orange Fruit

    • Green mold, caused by Penicillium digitatum, is a serious disease of citrus fruit during postharvest. The focus of this study was to evaluate possible biological alternatives to chemical fungicides for P. digitatum control. Four Pseudomonas isolates (Q110B, Q125B, Q112B, and Q004B) were isolated from rhizospheric soil and evaluated for their antagonistic activity against P. digitatum.

    • The effect of gamma-irradiation on sensory characteristics, physicochemical, parameters, and shelf life of Camarosa strawberries stored under refrigeration was investigated for a period of 20 days. Strawberries were exposed to gamma-irradiation at dose levels of 0.5 and 1.0 kGy.
