"Land in the Organic Research Unit is available to all researchers at North Carolina State University and North Carolina A&T State University to conduct short-term research projects." The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS) creates "multidisciplinary research and education/training projects" that focus on how "integrated farming systems can contribute to environmental, economic, social, and intergenerational sustainability."
The Department of Plant Sciences offers an M.S. Degree in Plant Sciences and offers a Ph.D. in collaboration with soil science faculty in the Department of Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science, and Entomology and Plant Patholog faculty. Graduate studies and research opportunities in organic and sustainable crop production are available.
The Leopold Center, a research and education center, "identif[ies] and develop[s] new ways to farm profitably while conserving natural resources as well as reducing negative environmental and social impacts."

The Organic Farming Research and Education Unit (OFREU), a 20-acre USDA-certified organic farm and research facility, is available for organic vegetable production, the student community supported agriculture program, Sustainable Agriculture Program (SAG) student apprenticeships, teaching resources and courses for the SAG curriculum, and faculty and student research in sustainable organic horticultural production systems. OFREU also serves as a venue for labs and hands-on learning.
The Organic Agriculture Working Group brings "together Kentucky State University researchers, teachers, and extension staff whose work relates to organic agriculture...to develop agricultural systems compatible with" the USDA National Organic Program Standards.
The 300-acre Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm includes 11 acres of certified organic land and hosts resesarch projects on organic agriculture, beneficial insects, honeybees, urban agriculture, and more.

The Matanuska Experiment Farm at the University of Alaska is part of the Agriculture and Forestry Experiment Station. It "provides a site in Southcentral Alaska for research in sustainable agriculture, land reclamation and other environmental issues like renewable energy and environmental remediation."
The 300-acre Russell Ranch Sustainable Agriculture Facility is "dedicated to investigating irrigated and dry-land agriculture in a Mediterranean climate." The Century Experiment (formerly known as LTRAS - Long Term Research Agricultural Sustainability) is a long-term, 100-year study implemented in 1993 on the main plots of Russell Ranch. The Experiment also includes the former Sustainable Agriculture Farming Systems (SAFS) research project.
Acquired in 2018, the Center is the first USDA Certified Organic program in the University's College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS). The Center operates a certified organic heirloom fruit orchard. CALS partners with Idaho Extension to deliver educational programs in "organic and sustainable crop production, pest management and soil health management, native plant landscapes, horticulture, organic food processing and marketing, food safety and nutrition."
Rogers Farm serves as the University's organic and sustainable agriculture research facility and is used for "a wide range of teaching, research and outreach activities." The University operates its student-run community-supported agriculture program on the farm.
