The Department of Plant Sciences offers an M.S. Degree in Plant Sciences and offers a Ph.D. in collaboration with soil science faculty in the Department of Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science, and Entomology and Plant Patholog faculty. The 92-acre Organic Crops Unit, one of six farming units that make up the East Tennessee Ag Research and Education Center, includes 14 acres certified organic and 7 acres under conventional production. The farms support faculty and graduate student research, with a primary emphasis on sustainable and organic crop production.
