EFNEP Resources at NAL

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is a national nutrition education program funded by USDA-NIFA and administered by 1862 and 1890 Land-Grant Universities through Cooperative Extension. Beginning in 1969, it is now present in every state, territory, and the District of Columbia, and reaches over a half-million low-income families and youth each year. University-based professionals supervise and train community-based paraprofessionals to deliver audience-tailored, evidence-based interactive lessons to program participants about diet quality and physical activity, food resource management, food safety, and food security.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of EFNEP, NAL has compiled this list of resources in its holdings about the program. AGRICOLA, PubAg, NAL Digital Collections, Internet Archive, USDA Current Research Information System, and NAL Special Collections were searched in January 2019 and the results are available in the EFNEP Research tab below.
