EFNEP Resources at NAL
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is a national nutrition education program funded by USDA-NIFA and administered by 1862 and 1890 Land-Grant Universities through Cooperative Extension. Beginning in 1969, it is now present in every state, territory, and the District of Columbia, and reaches over a half-million low-income families and youth each year. University-based professionals supervise and train community-based paraprofessionals to deliver audience-tailored, evidence-based interactive lessons to program participants about diet quality and physical activity, food resource management, food safety, and food security.
