The Food Safety Research Information Office (FSRIO) supports the research community by collecting, organizing, and disseminating food safety information in accordance with the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998.

FSRIO’s mission is to provide the food safety research community with information on publicly and privately funded food safety research. FSRIO works to assist the federal government and private entities on the assessment of research needs and priorities, and to prevent the unintended duplication of food safety research. FSRIO works in cooperation with federal partners including the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, public institutions, and on a voluntary basis, private research organizations.

FSRIO’s key information products include the Research Projects Database (RPD), Research Publications Feed, and the Meet the Experts webpages. Resources on foundational information about various food safety topics and grey literature from credited government, public and private organizations are also tracked.
