ATLANTIC MACKEREL, VITAMIN A, INFLAMMATION, AND GUT MICROBIOME

Objective

The goal of this project is to advance understanding of how Atlantic mackerel fillet consumption promotes the gut microbiome homeostasis and gut health in the dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis rat model, and how Atlantic mackerel vitamin A, as a potential bioactive compound exerts the protective role in this disease process.
