ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS AND FATE OF HORMONES & PATHOGENS FROM POULTRY LITTER APPLICATIONS

Objective

To determine 1) gaseous emissions (ammonia, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, methane) associated with land application of chicken litter; 2) determine presence and concentration of Salmonella and Campylobacter and hormomes in surface and subsurface drainage; and 3) determine effects of tillage on gas emissions, pathogen and hormones from waste applications.
