Dioxin and Furan Methods Research

Prior methods development efforts have increased FDA's monitoring capability from only 1 congener in fish to 17 congeners in fish and 5 different dairy products. More work is needed to make the analyses less labor intensive and more comprehensive. Ion trap mass spectrometry, automated extraction cleanup procedures, and additional foods will be investigated.
