Objective

To determine through chemical synthesis and animal feeding trials if furan fatty acids can impact reproduction and fertility in animals.

<p>
Furan fatty acids will be chemically synthesized and mixed into animal diets. Animals will be purchased and a diet formulated to NRC requirements with furan fatty acids added at 0, 1.0, and 3.0 ppm. The test compounds will be fed for 3 weeks. Production fertility and reproductive parameters will be determined for each treatment group.</P>
