Effect of Ozonation Sterilization on Plastic Packaging Materials

Objective

Ozonation and extraction experiments will be performed using PET and HDPE polymers to determine decomposition effects of residual ozone on the polymer/bottles/films. Volatile and nonvolatile compounds formed on the polymer films and / or migrated into drinking water will be identified and / or quantified using GC/MS and HPLC.
