The Feed-SEG project will bring together experts form academia, industry and decision-makers to exchange know-how and to discuss and prepare for the future policy development but also to identify the most promising research fields in feed safety. The proposed Feed-SEG SSA is based on an initiative to network the currently running EU-projects REPLACE, PIG for HEALTH and SAFEWASTES, which are all focusing on research to improve and to develop healthy feed for the safety of livestock and humans.<P>
The objective is to bridge the research results of these and other existing EU projects with the identification of new research topics, policies and tendencies in the future. The issue of how to find effective alternatives to address the removal from routine use of anti microbials in animal feeds has been addressed by a number of research projects which responsible experts behind will be integrated during the project. The 24-months project activities include promoting and facilitating the dissemination, exploitation and transfer of current EC funded research project results, it will contribute to objectives of a common policy development and will prepare for future community RTD activities, and will further integrate researchers and experts from the New Member States (NM S) and Associated Candidate Countries (ACC).
