Field Investigation of Acquisition and Persistence of Multiple Resistant E. Coli in Cattle and Sheep Exposed to Farm Waste

<OL> <LI> To obtain evidence on the capacity for multiple resistant E. coli from farm wastes to colonise cattle and sheep. <LI> To quantify the level of waste application and the number of organisms associated with colonisation. Assess the duration of colonisation by multiple resistant organisms in relation to microbial load in the waste. <LI> To gather descriptive information of medication and waste handling policies to correlate with bacteriological results. <LI> To compare the risks of transfer of multiple resistant organisms from slurries from cattle, pigs and poultry.
