Gene Probes for Determination of Aflatoxigenic Potential of Aspergillus Species

Objective

Assess Aspergillus strains, some of which are used in fermentation processes for production of foods, for the presence or absence of aflatoxin genes and/or their expression products (mRNA's).

More information

Recently available cloned genes will be usd as probes in laboratory DNA/RNA hybridization assays (Southern blots and Northern blots) to detect the presence or absence of aflatoxin genes and/or their expression products.
