The ultimate goal of this research is to determine how seasonal fluctuations in soil microbiomes affect pesticide metabolism and the potential impact of pesticides on human and environmental health. This will be accomplished through the pursuit of two specific objectives:Objective 1: Assess soil microbial community structure at various temperatures, both in response to pesticide applications and in the absence of pesticide applications. Objective 2: Determine the primary pesticide transformation products produced under varying temperatures and assess their potential risk for injury relative to the transformation products produced at the standard 20°C.
