Our long- term goals are to delineate the underlying mechanisms of developmental programming in livestock species and to develop successful approaches to mitigate impacts of compromised fetal development. The short-term goals of this project are to determine postnatal impacts of maternal vitamin and mineral supplementation throughout gestation on the F1 generation, and whether effects extend multigenerationaly and affect high energy-demanding tissues, such as liver and muscle of the F2 generation.
