Objective

Objective 1: Leverage Xunde Li's NARMS grant (2018-2022) to collect raw retail poultry from Southern California.Objective 2: Develop an in situ qualitative and quantitative molecular assay for common Salmonella and Campylobacter strains in raw poultry via Next Generational 16S-ITS-23S rDNA sequencing with a "spike-in" standard to enable quantification.Objective 3: Extend and integrate quantitative data for Salmonella and Campylobacter to the general public.
