More information

Approach: We will utilize female British UTA turkey poults as the animal model for biologically confirming the detoxification of the meal and oil fractions of treated and control corn and cottonseed. Briefly, the three week-old turkeys will be obtained from a commercial hatchery and housed in poultry batteries in temperature and light controlled rooms with forced ventilation. Animals will be given treated or control feed ad libitum. Six replicates of five birds per pen will be used to obtain statistically relevant data and determine differences between groups (ANOVA).
