Self-study courses and certification testing will be developed to targes the majority of veterinarians, producers and their employees in Nebraska. A pre-harvest HACCP model will be developed and evaluated in cow/calf and feedlot production units. All of the materials developed will be made available through a dedicated WWW Home Page.
The revised Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program and HACCP introductory training has been well received, but delivery has not reached the majority of beef producers in Nebraska. Furthermore, HACCP systems have not been developed or evaluated for pre-harvest beef production.
