Survey of Samples from the 2001 Total Diet Study for Dioxins and Dioxin-Like PCBs

Objective

Individual samples from food groups collected for the 2001 total diet survey (all except beverages) were pooled to obtain 19 composite food group samples. The concentrations of individual polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinaterd dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) congeners that have been assigned a WHO-TEQ are reported for each sample. Additional PCB congeners (totalling 36) that include the ICES 7 compounds and others that may be of toxicological significance are also reported.
