TRANSCRIPTIONAL REGULATION OF EGG FORMATION IN THE OVIDUCT OF BROILER BREEDER HENS

Objective

Our major goal is to improve the egg quality in the broiler breeder hens through a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in egg formation. We plan to attain the overall goal by pursuing the following two specific objectives: Objective 1: Identify the oviductal genes and biological pathways involved in albumen biosynthesis and eggshell biomineralization in broiler breeder hens. Objective 2: Determine the association of oviductal gene expressions on egg quality.
