URBAN AGRICULTURE INTEGRATED PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

Conduct a virtual conference to engage potential research, extension, education, industry, and community collaborators in integrated urban agriculture proposal development from April - May 2023.Share REE needs and gaps identified by stakeholders in the Listening Sessions and discover new ones.Identify urban agriculture and food system value chain issues of concern to collaborators and synthesize perceptions of economic, social, and environmental impacts of urban agriculture on communities.Support development of interdisciplinary, urban, indoor and other emerging agricultural production REE proposals that bridge disciplinary and geographic divides. These teams, along with all participants, will be encouraged to join the Education/Extension and Research Activity (ERA) being developed through the Western Development Committee for Urban, Indoor and other Emerging Agricultural Production Research, Education and Extension Initiative (WDC53), to which Co-PI Gaolach is also providing leadership. It is expected a formal application to establish an Education/Extension and Research Activity (ERA) will be submitted in January 2023. As appropriate, teams will be encouraged to create stand alone Multi-state Research Projects.Build capacity of interdisciplinary teams for REE efforts in urban agriculture.?
