United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

USDA agencies provide information and services for emergency preparedness and response. "Here you will you find information about specific disasters and emergencies, how to prepare, recover, and help build long-term resilience, as well as information about USDA assistance during disaster events."

U.S. Department of Agriculture. Rural Development.

"In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, USDA Rural Development (RD) issued a letter (PDF, 63 KB) outlining ways the agency can provide assistance to homeowners affected by the hurricane. RD also provides assistance for new grants and to help existing loan and grant recipients. Do not hesitate to contact your local Rural Development State Office by email or telephone if you have questions about your loan or grant."

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"When returning to your home after a hurricane or flood, be aware that flood water may contain sewage. Protect yourself and your family by following these steps..."

Department of Housing and Urban Development

HUD can provide critical housing and community development resources to aid disaster recovery. HUD's Disaster Recovery Teams are located in offices throughout the country.

American Red Cross.

"The American Red Cross can provide two types of assistance after a disaster - hard and soft. Hard assistance provides material items and may include feeding, shelter, clean-up kits, comfort kits and financial assistance. Soft assistance minimizes immediate disaster-caused suffering through listening, guidance, advocacy, and counseling."

Small Business Administration.

Provides various types assistance for businesses of all sizes in preparing for emergencies and in the event of a disaster.
