This 17-month, interdisciplinary master's degree program offers four specialization tracks, including Renewable and Sustainable Energy, and Sustainable Food Systems.

The Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Applied Science (AAS) degree program “includes technical training in food production, student-driven research, and co-creation of community engagement initiatives. Hands-on, experiential, transdisciplinary learning is emphasized through student engagement in the campus gardens and food system where students participate in developing food sovereignty strategies that can be trialed and learned from.”

The Agricultural Sciences major combines diverse coursework with hands-on experience at the Dilmun Hill Student Farm. The sustainable cropping systems management curriculum focuses on "the production and management of crop systems, including the use of both organic and conventional methods."

Coursework in the Agricultural Technology Program covers organic and sustainable agriculture technology, organic food production systems, sustainable vegetable production, sustainability practices, alternative energy, precision agriculture, high tunnels, and hydroponic systems and more. "Emphasis is placed on the application of sustainability principles on the university's farm, research plots, gardens, hydroponic systems, greenhouses, and high tunnels."

The Agricultural Sciences major combines diverse coursework with hands-on experience at the Dilmun Hill Student Farm. The organic agriculture curriculum provides instruction "about the philosophy and regulations involved with certified organic crop production" and on "practical ways of growing crops and managing pests using organic methods."

"Busby Farm serves Lincoln University Cooperative Research (LUCR) by demonstrating and researching organic, integrated and sustainable ways to farm." It is one of the largest organic research farms in the United States.

This Kellogg-endowed program provides interdisciplinary sustainable agriculture research, education and outreach leadership and engagement for The Ohio State University and its many partners throughout the State of Ohio and beyond.

Students in the Agriculture and Food Systems major can "tailor their course work to their specific interests" to focus their area of study on sustainable or organic agriculture, agricultural policy and entrepreneurship, alternative energy, community supported agriculture or other interests.

The Agroecology Summer Intensive is an undergraduate 10-week, summer, residential curriculum in academic and experiential learning at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College. It comprises four courses (15 credits) in Sustainable Agriculture: soils, vegetable crops, agroecology and small farm management/produce marketing that count towards the school's Agroecology Minor. A Certificate Program is available for persons not seeking academic credit. Internships are available at the Merry Lea Sustainable Farm.  ASI is held at the Rieth Village, 4415 W. 200 S, Albion, IN 46701.
