The program offers classes that focus on skills needed to run a local farm, annual workshops and educational events. The on-farm apprenticeship program focuses on sustainable, small and mid-scale production. Growing Growers is a collaborative effort between the Kansas State University Research and Extension, University of Missouri Extension, Lincoln University, Kansas Food Circle, Kansas Rural Center, Cultivate Kansas City, and the Kansas Rural Center.

The KU Community Farm, previously referred to at the KU Student Farm, "provides individual and community plots where KU students, faculty, staff and others can grow their own food using organic methods."  Located at the Native Plant Medicinal Garden.

The Sustainable Agriculture Certificate program in partnership with Kansas State University (Olathe) provides education, hands-on experience and internships in production and direct marketing of locally grown food.
