The objective is to advance the development of laboratory and field-portable detection methods for measuring fungal toxins at low levels and to promote novel technological innovations for developing user-friendly tests to be used by personnel in the field.
Approach: The funds will partially offset the costs of a workshop entitled "Novel Detection Methods for Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins", a satelitte event to the 2007 Gordon Research Conference on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins. The workshop will facilitate discussions of novel approaches and the latest technological advances by recognized experts in the field of mycotoxin analysis. "Hands on" demonstration sessions will be included to provide continuing education and demonstrate emerging technologies.
