The major goalof this research project isto determine the potential ofnatural, environmentally-friendly, alternative approaches to control major foodborne pathogensin poultry production and processing. Approaches include probiotics, prebiotics, vaccination, bacteriophages, minerals, and phytobiotics. Target pathogens include Salmonella spp., Clostridium perfringens, Listeria monocytogenes, Campylobacter, and pathogenic E. coli.
