Total metals (aluminium, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, selenium, tin, thallium and zinc) were measured in food samples by both direct nebulisation ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and AAS-AMA spectrometry, to ensure the best detection limits and accuracy of results. All work was carried out using CAI-accredited methods.
