NON-TECHNICAL SUMMARY: Complement DAI experience in Avian Influenza (AI) preparedness and response by providing leadership in the design and coordination of AI disease control efforts on a country-by-country basis plus technical assistance to: Assist DAI staff with curriculum development for various international avian influenza training courses and workshops. Assist DAI staff in developing laboratory curriculum and workshop practical sessions for various international avian influenza training courses. Customize Avian Flu School materials to make them locally relevant and customized for different audiences for international workshops and training efforts. Provide technical input on avian influenza course materials prepared by agencies and project partners. Develop laboratory and practical session handouts for avian influenza workshops. Recruit and prepare instructors to conduct avian influenza workshops and courses in the U.S. and abroad. Make travel arrangements for Avian Flu School instructors and technical advisors to travel and conduct workshops in the U.S. or abroad. Participate in conference calls for the purposes of planning avian influenza workshops and meetings that are relevant to the tasks to be conducted by the UC Davis AFS Program for STOP-AI program. Assist with organizing Train-the-Trainer workshops at UC Davis for instructors that will conduct avian influenza workshops in the US and abroad.
