INVESTIGATION OF GERMLINE COMPLEMENTATION IN CATTLE

Objective

The overall goal of this project is to determine if, and to what extent, bovine pluripotent stem cells (PSC) when used in blastocyst complementation schemes can replace the germline of gene-edited, germline-ablated cattle (i.e., germline complementation). An additional goal is to advance the knowledge of cattle gonadal function and embryonic development by characterizing gene-edited, germline-knockout cattle at key developmental stages.
