Project goals are centered on reducing the risk of imported feed ingredients serving as a route for introduction of foreign animal disease into the US. The major objectives of this project include 1) defining the stability of African swine fever virus (ASFV) in soybean products commonly used in complete feed diets as a protein source for commercial swine and 2) improving diagnostic capabilities and surveillance tools for the detection of ASFV in contaminated soybean products and complete feed.
