Evaluate BSF Survival and Development on Dairy Manure in Response to Probiotics and Associated Manure Digestion.Based on previous research, we hypothesize that the use of probiotics could enhance BSF-mediated manure reduction by volume and associated BSF mass production for use as biofuel or protein.Quantify the Impact of BSF and Probiotics on Reduction of Greenhouse Gas and Noxious Odor Production in Manure.Based on our published and preliminary findings, we expect that incorporating probiotics into BSF digestion will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and noxious odors from manure.Characterize the Microbial Structure and Function in Dairy Manure Digested by BSF and in the Harvested Larvae, Including Pathogen Populations.Based on previous research, we hypothesize that BSF and probiotics will reduce metabolically active pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes.
